我心疼地看着这棵树。
园艺工人正站在高高的梯子上，手拿锋利的大锯子，毫不犹豫地剪下了大榕树的树枝。一根根树枝无助地掉了下来。
悄无声息。
它们还在大树身上的时候，就已经死了。去年冬天实在太寒冷，学校门口那原本茂盛的大榕树仿佛一夜之间就从绿色褪成了满树的金黄，又仿佛一夜之间，连金黄的色泽也没有了，褪成了暗黄色，枝条奄奄一息地耷拉着，和他旁边另外一棵大榕树形成了鲜明的对比。
“咔嚓，咔嚓，咔嚓……”细长的枝条剪完了，园丁还是毫不留情地剪去更大更粗的树枝。

经过它时，我习惯性地抬头看，哇！这棵大榕树仿佛被调了包似的，在截断树枝的“伤口”上，在光秃秃的枝丫上，竟然冒出了一点点嫩绿的新叶。叶子虽然不大，但是颜色亮丽，像个精神十足的士兵！他们在深棕色的庞大树干间显得格外明亮夺目，神气十足，把树干点缀得格外引人注目。整棵树，像挂满了绿色的灯泡，显得亮堂堂的。
我很惊讶：它们为什么在一夜之间就能从一片叶子都没有到长出那么多叶子呢？小小的叶子竟然有如此的气魄和决心，使它们可以突破树干，长出新叶！而濒死的大树，又是什么样的勇气让它拼命吸取大地的影响，挣脱死神的手掌，从死亡的边缘跑到生的希望？
